Yiannos Lakkotrypis

Managing Director

Yiannos is the Founder and Managing Director of Viribus Management Services. He is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s strategy, team and operations. He leads the team in its mission to deliver the best client results.

 

Yiannos career started as an IT officer at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus in 1997. In 2007, Yiannos was appointed as Head of IT Department in the Cyprus Ports Authority where he also served as Port Manager until 2016. From 2016 – 2021 he served as CEO in a marine services group of companies.

He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Management Science from the University of Keele, UK and  a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK. He also possesses an MSc in Information Security from the University of London, UK as well as a diploma in Port Management from STET Singapore. 

Yiannos is also a certified Chartered Engineer (CEng) by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) of UK. During his past roles, he represented the Republic of Cyprus in the High-Level Steering Group for the implementation of SafeSeaNet as well as the Expert Group for the Implementation of Directive 2010/65 in the European Union. He has also lead the implementation of the National Ports Community System in Cyprus.
